Common English Name: Yuzu.

Botanical Name: Citrus junos.

Plant Family: Rutaceae.

Method of Extraction: Cold pressing of the peel of the fruit.

Origin: Indigenous to East Asia.

Plant Description: A small citrus tree or shrub with scented leaves, and s mall fruit that looks like a grapefruit. The fruit matures to yellow in color.

Main Chemical Components: Monoterpenes and alcohols (limonene, linalool).

Blends Well With: Other citrus essential oils, lavender essential oil, various flower essential oils; carrier oils.

Uses: Uplifting, refreshing, calming; it can be used in natural perfumery formulations.

Fun Fact: Yuzu is a hybrid of the mandarin fruit and the ichang papeda citrus fruit.

Cautions for Use: Possible photo-toxicity; do not use prior to going out in sunlight. Always dilute in a carrier oil base before applying to the skin.
